Make this the year you find your style

The New Year is under way and resolutions have been made and broken!
Rather than resolving what not to do, how about setting some simple goals to help transform your wardrobe?

Here are 3 ideas to help you achieve the elusive ‘buy less, wear more‘:

1. Resolve to find your style.

Before you start shopping, go to your wardrobe and make up one outfit that you absolutely love. Put it on and analyse why you love it. Does it show off your great legs? Does the colour make you feel good? Is it because it fits really well and you know you can just forget you are wearing it? Do you love the fabric? Have you been told you look fabulous in it? Really think about what it is that makes you love this outfit. Once you have worked out the key elements, make a note of them and take shopping with you. Throughout the year keep this guide in mind every time you shop.

2. Resolve to build a Capsule Wardrobe.

Starting with the outfit you identified above, decide how you can wear it in new ways.  Can it be made more casual with a chunky cardigan and boots?  More dressy with heels and handbag? Would a great piece of jewellery draw attention to the neckline? What other colours do you love that would work with it? Make a list of pieces that would work with and extend this outfit.

3. Resolve to feel fabulous every day.

When your wardrobe is full of clothes you love, that make you feel good, this is an easy resolution to keep. But how often do we buy something and keep it for best or just that one occasion? That makes it a very expensive outfit! Why shouldn’t you dress up and feel good about yourself on a daily basis? Feeling good gives you confidence so resolve to step out with style – for yourself – every day.

Look and feel fabulous

“I don’t understand how a woman can leave the house without fixing herself up a little – if only out of politeness.  And then, you never know, maybe that’s the day she has a date with destiny.  And it’s best to be as pretty as possible for destiny.”
